Guest Blog - Appetizer: Buffalo Chicken Dip

Continuing with one of the GF Foodie's favorite guest bloggers, here is another appetizer Brenda served while watching the Super Bowl a few weeks back. If you missed her first post, you can catch up here


While watching the Super Bowl or any sporting event, there seems to be a few basic foods that are consumed by the masses. My favorite happens to be Hot Wings! Although I still don’t believe there is a Gluten Free section on the menu of my local BW3s, I have discovered a fantastic dip that has the same flavors of a hot wing that will knock your socks off and having you craving more.


Ingredients
1 8-oz. pkg. of cream cheese (softened)
2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded*
1 16-oz. bottle of ranch dressing
½ cup of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (or more if you like it really hot!)
1 8-oz. pkg. (2 cups) of shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation Instructions
Spread the softened cream cheese into an ungreased 9x13 baking dish. Layer with shredded chicken, ranch dressing, and hot sauce. Sprinkle with cheese.

Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Serve warm with tortilla chips.

*My favorite way to make tasty shredded chicken is simple but you have to plan ahead. Place your chicken breasts together with 2 cups of chicken broth in your slow cooker for 5-6 hours on low. The chicken will shred easily and can easily be made a day or two ahead and stored in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble your dip.
